The Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 is a compact Wi-Fi smart relay that lets you remotely control any connected electrical appliance — lights, fans, boilers, or sockets — directly from your phone, tablet, or voice assistant. Despite its tiny size (just 29×34×16 mm), it fits neatly inside standard wall boxes and behind existing switches, making it one of the easiest ways to add smart control to your home without any rewiring.

Installation

Installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable working with mains wiring; professional installation by a qualified electrician is strongly recommended due to 110–240V live connections.

  1. Switch off the circuit breaker for the circuit you are working on and verify there is no voltage at the terminals using a multimeter or phase tester.
  2. Connect the load (lamp, appliance) to the O (output) terminal and the Neutral wire.
  3. Connect the Live wire (110–240 VAC) to the L terminal of the device.
  4. Optionally connect a physical switch or push button to the SW terminal and the Live wire. Do not use buttons or switches with a built-in LED or glow lamp.
  5. Fit the device into the wall box and restore power by switching the circuit breaker back on.
  6. Download the Shelly Smart Control app and follow the in-app setup to connect the device to your Wi-Fi network.
  7. Optionally link the device to Alexa, Google Home, or Home Assistant for voice control and advanced automations.
  8. Set up schedules, energy monitoring alerts, or scripted automations as needed.
