Aqara P1 (MS-S02) is a compact, advanced, and highly energy-efficient smart motion sensor and light detector. This device accurately tracks movement and ambient illumination levels within any room. As soon as the sensor detects a change, it instantly sends an alert to your Aqara Home app. Thanks to this, you can immediately trigger automated scenes across connected devices in your smart home.

Maximum coverage and highly adjustable sensitivity

The device offers an impressive 170° detection angle that covers a distance of up to 7 meters. Furthermore, it includes a versatile 360° adjustable mount. Therefore, you can precisely aim the sensor at specific target zones like a bed, entrance door, or stairway. Three integrated sensitivity levels allow you to fine-tune the detection distance. This advanced feature successfully helps you to avoid accidental false alarms.

The sensor is an excellent tool for smart lighting and energy-saving automations. For instance, you can configure it for the following automated actions:

• Turning on hallway lights only when someone walks by and it is dark
• Shutting off air conditioning automatically if a room stays empty for 20 minutes
• Triggering local intruder alarms and push notifications while you are away

Configurable detection timeout and smart security

The detection timeout can now be customized from 1 to 200 seconds directly inside the mobile app. In fact, no hardware modifications on the sensor itself are needed for this change anymore. The Aqara P1 also integrates perfectly into the advanced Home Alert System. In case of unexpected movement, the system immediately activates loud local audio alarms on your hub.

Incredible 5-year battery life performance

Built with a strong focus on long-term stability, this model utilizes two powerful CR2450 batteries. Consequently, the sensor achieves a record-breaking battery lifespan of up to 5 years. Additionally, the device supports over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates. This ensure regular additions of new features without needing to replace the physical sensor.

Technical note for users

Like other devices in this line, the Aqara P1 runs on the stable Zigbee wireless protocol. However, a compatible Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub is required for its full functionality and integration with Apple HomeKit or Google Home. Physical installation is completely wireless. It takes less than a minute and allows placement on any flat surface around your home.
