The Aqara Door and Window Sensor T1 is a compact, tool-free Zigbee 3.0 contact sensor that instantly detects whether a door, window, drawer, mailbox, or cabinet is open or closed. Using a precision reed switch and a paired magnet unit, it reports status changes in real time to your smart home hub and triggers automations the moment something opens or closes.
Once connected to an Aqara hub, the sensor integrates with Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Matter-compatible ecosystems, enabling automations such as turning on lights when a door opens, sending security alerts on unauthorized entry, or activating an alarm scene when a window opens at night. It works entirely locally — no cloud dependency for automation execution.
The T1 series brings OTA firmware update support over the previous generation, improving long-term stability and compatibility. Installation takes under a minute: clean the surface, peel the included sticker, press the sensor and magnet into position on either side of the frame — no screws, no tools, no drill. A single CR1632 battery powers the sensor for over two years under normal use.
